How did we help?

Lisa -Jones -100Calco is a specialist, UK-based recruitment consultancy focusing on the construction, property and engineering sectors. They have some fantastic roles to fill for their clients and want to improve their response rates and relevance. Speed is key!

We first consulted with the business and marketing leaders of Calco and assessed their goals were to:

  • Attract talent (construction professionals)
  • Attract staff to their brand
  • Confirm to their clients that they were a great recruiter and knew how to attract

We ran a really engaging 2.5 hour workshop for 15 of the Calco team, which was made up of recruiters, managers, directors and marketers.  We reviewed the behaviour of the new “digital” candidate, how to use new technology to attract and how to “pitch” roles rather than simply post specs.

We then consulted with the business leaders after the course, set some metrics around how to measure ROI.

We wanted a refreshing and new approach and needed guidance. We work in construction which of course is a serious industry, but we wanted to be quirky to stand out.

We also wanted to improve our brand awareness and passive candidate attraction.

We’ve been working with Barclay Jones on our digital strategy and this was an important part of the overall plan.

Three words to describe this adverts training: thought provoking, engaging, practical, creative (that’s four!)

If any recruitment company wanted to “lift things up” and do things differently to attract candidates they should get in touch with Barclay Jones. Although I’d be frightened to recommend them as I don’t want anyone doing what we’re starting to do.
