We have used Barclay Jones for over a year to support us with our IT strategy. In that time working with them we have found that their experience and expertise has helped us think about the business in a different way.


AJ is an award-winning Social and Health Care business delivering recruitment solutions, specialist training and direct care services to individuals and organisations. They approached Barclay Jones because they had ambitious growth plans and knew that their technology was not able to support this and could prohibit their growth at the desired rate.

Working on a retained assignment basis Barclay Joes manages the technology strategy of AJ. Barclay Jones began by understanding the business and the direction the Directors thought the business was heading. We then challenged their existing ideas and direction and gave them clear, concise and positive advice.  Working closely with the Directors and staff, projects were developed and delivered to free up the Directors to grow the business.  This helped them form a very clear business strategy in which Barclay Jones provided them with a structured IT function along with the appropriate technology that their business required to move in the new direction.

In summary we have helped with:

  • Stable systems - all of their systems are now documented and supported
  • Proactively Managed Supplier contracts - they now have contracts with suppliers who are able to support them in their growth, and are great value for money
  • Documented systems - their processes and systems are documented, thus they can make informed decisions
  • A protected business - disaster recovery, backups, anti-spam, web filtering etc…
  • Automated business processes – CRM and Rostering systems are business critical systems that enable continuity of care and sale growth
  • New Office – a relocation from their existing offices to brand new head office, providing triple the capacity and a future foundation for growth
  • A strategic presence - they have someone within the business that they can get guidance and advice from when they plan their next business improvement.

The Directors are now free to make informed decisions about their business and feel confident that their technology strategy, their processes and their systems will support their rapid growth.
