Ultimately, we were able to keep growing the business during what we knew, if we had managed internally, would have been a very distracting and disruptive project for the whole company, and potentially our clients.
We worked with Wayne of Barclay Jones to move our head office operation.
We knew that the project was going to be a big task. We had researched how many things we would need to do. We also knew that we would need to not only keep our business running, but also keep up with the challenging task of growing the business.
Working with Barclay Jones, and allowing them to project manage our move, gave us the clarity we needed to get the move right whilst continuing to run our business. We wanted to employ an outsourced resource dedicated to this expansion as we knew that that using someone in-house would inevitably lead to them getting distracted between the needs of the relocation project and their day to day roles. Also, relying on so many outsourced contractors, and co-ordinating so many different tasks would have lead to expensive mistakes – we had not run a project like this before and didn’t have the time or resources to get it wrong.
Benefits? Barclay Jones made it simple, quick and cost effective. The decisions we needed to make as the project moved on were made easy as we received regular communication from Barclay Jones, who kept us in the loop about their progress and made sure that we had enough information to make progress and act on decisions that needed to be made quickly and decisively.
As far as our staff were concerned, the move started on the Friday morning when they packed their desks, and finished when they unpacked their boxes the following Monday. We continued to trade, albeit in a different geographical location, the next working day, with very little disruption to our clients and staff.
